Showing recharge plans inside your app: what a plan API gives you
Why a plan lookup improves recharge screens, and how to cache plan data without showing stale offers.
A recharge screen with only an amount box puts the burden on the customer. They have to know the exact price of the plan they want. A plan API removes that burden by giving you the plans an operator offers in a circle, so your app can show real choices.
What a good plan screen shows
- Price and validity in the first line
- The main benefit in plain words (data, calls, or both)
- A grouping that matches how customers think, such as data packs or validity packs
Cache carefully
Plan data changes when operators change their offers. Cache it briefly on your side so screens load quickly, and refresh it on a schedule that your provider recommends.
Keep the price you show and the price you charge the same
Send the chosen plan's amount to the recharge request without changes. If your provider reports that a plan is no longer available, show a friendly message and offer the nearest alternative.
Be honest about what you know
If you cannot be sure a plan is current, say so. A short note such as "Plans may change. Final details are confirmed by your operator" keeps expectations right.
